Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta)  Amboseli, before noon. A leader alpha female spotted hyena portions a wildebeest carcass, which some lions had caught before dawn. This breed of hyena, which is the largest, differs from the other breeds in that it regularly hunts and seeks food even during the day.
