African Elephant (Loxodonta africana)  It was early morning in the Samburu reserve. A herd of about 50 elephants was going to the water, as they do everyday around this time. A group of youngsters, between the ages of 6 and 24 months, just simply decided to make a merry-go-round. They were holding on to each other's tails and were spinning counter-clockwise while simultaneously keeping up with the herd. Evidently they had played this game before. This was possibly the nicest moment I have ever experienced with wild elephants. Then they began to advance all around us. There was no chance to move. They were all very tolerant, even curious. No signs of aggression.
